The Official Keeping Up Appearances Fan Club & Forum
Welcome to the Bucket residence (that is pronounced 'Bouquet'). To get full access to my house please log in or create an account, that way I will be assured that you are a truly superior person, who will not brush against my wallpaper! Don't forget to take your shoes off, as stains on my wood block flooring are a pain to remove.

By the way, Harold Snoad who is the director of Keeping Up Appearances, is our resident celebrity. That will show Mrs Barker-Finch who really has friends in high places!

Best Wishes,
Hyacinth Bucket

PostSubject: hello, so pleased to be here   Tue Jan 24, 2012 10:08 pm

I am Leelee, former women's editor, worker with abused children and dancer. I first saw a snippet of Keeping up appearances some years ago , the one where the couple is looking for the cottage and meets that terribly wierd man who has the key and cannot be understood. I remember sitting with my son laughing so hard at poor Richard and Hyacinth's reaction to the livestock. I tried finding the show again but only succeeded one time and it was the candle light supper episode with the lecherous major running after our poor heroine in the green house. After that i found no more and gradually forgot about the series. Then about six months ago I thought of Patricia Routledge once more but in the character of Hetty Wainthrop and decided to try on you tube. Then I tried Keeping up Appearances and voila there she was in all her shining glory. This New Years my little eight year old girl wanted us to have the party with the keeping up appearances theme. She made her elegant tall thin father be our Onslow, me Hyacinth which was just fine; she was Daisy and her uncle had to be Richard. She actually begged me to go to the market and get turkey bacon( we don't eat pork) and white bread which we never have, and make bacon butty sarnies for treats. We had great fun. I hope to learn of others thoughts on this series of genius and great warmth of heart.

Arthur Rudge: Olive darling, I'll take your knitting up for you. I know how you like a little knit in bed.

Oh thank you very much. I should be very honored if all of you would accept an invitation on my royal blue gilt edged stationary with the genuine crest of our family to eat-, we have a very big place with a fourty place setting of Royal Albert with the genuine signature on the bottom and numbered edition along with it, a great long table, polished of course with only the finest real lemon and extra virgin olive oil preparations; we also like our dearest Hyacinth have quite the selection of palm trees and lemon trees inside the house, They are in huge pots at the main entrance and rise to the third floor by the mile high windows. I have in fact perfected the in door outdoor barbeque with large finger buffet. And what is more if it is a fine day we can go outside by the lake and enjoy a sort of picnic, well dessert picnick with riparian entertainments. Please come.

USA Welcome leelee. It is a great pleasure to have you here. Do be careful when you move past my house. I have just had a very expensive alarm system installed. I'd hate for you to be startled, should it go off. Wink

Hi Leelee and welcome Waving

Your KUA themed party sounds brilliant. Your poor hubby taking on the role of Onslow!

I would love to come to your outdoor finger buffet with riparian entertainments. I go to them all the time don't you know. Banana
