The Official Keeping Up Appearances Fan Club & Forum
Welcome to the Bucket residence (that is pronounced 'Bouquet'). To get full access to my house please log in or create an account, that way I will be assured that you are a truly superior person, who will not brush against my wallpaper! Don't forget to take your shoes off, as stains on my wood block flooring are a pain to remove.

By the way, Harold Snoad who is the director of Keeping Up Appearances, is our resident celebrity. That will show Mrs Barker-Finch who really has friends in high places!

Best Wishes,
Hyacinth Bucket

Hello,

I've just joined this forum.
I live in Northern France and teach English in a secondary school.
I discovered KUA in the early 1990's when as a student I spent a year in England.
It took only a couple of minutes for me to love the series, its characters and its comedy.
As soon as they started releasing the complete series on DVD, I bought them and saw lots of episodes for the very first time, which was a real treat.
Before I ever saw KUA, I remember seeing very late at night while changing channels a woman saying a monologue in a lonely room, and I was fascinated by her performance. I didn't know the name of the show or the name of the actress but kept a vivid memory of it. It's a few years later I recognized Patricia Routledge and heard about the Talking Head series.

Amitiés,

Philippe
